The popularity of Korean skincare has come from those in Korea who are masters at caring for their skin, and we’ve started to take notice. According to the BBC News, South Korean Women spend twice as much of their income on skincare and beauty products than American women; while South Korean men spend more on skincare than those in any other country. So, what’s the hype about Korean skincare products? We’re about to find out…
In Korea, starting at a young age, kids are taught proper techniques, like exfoliating, moisturising, and using SPF, so it becomes second nature to them when they grow up. Moreover, it’s not just for girls, boys are as equally invested in their skincare routine. Skincare products in Korea are available anywhere, and everywhere in convenience stores and even in the subway, this shows how much they value the importance of skincare. Korean consumers also focus on preventing skincare problems by consistently apply skincare products, as they believe taking care of your skin at a younger age can prevent the signs of fine lines and dark spots.
In Korea, skincare is not a luxury there is widespread demand of Korean skincare products that sell for as little as £1, for instance, their most popular sheet masks that are used to nourish the skin after a long day or to apply along with friends and family, which has now become a social thing instead of a beauty thing. All in all, we can see why Korean skincare has become the new skincare hype; although for Korean skincare to branch into new markets they would need to adapt to changes, like vegan, organic and Halal skincare products are also readily available.
Hope you enjoyed this blog if you would like to read about the rise of Halal skincare products we have a blog post on this too.
